With Vic Beasley and other defensive line pieces set to test free agency, the Falcons have to add some pass-rushers to the mix this offseason, and ESPN’s Vaughn McClure has an idea of a candidate they will pursue:
Would expect the Falcons to make a play for veteran pass rusher Robert Quinn. Not saying they’ll sign him for sure. Quinn, who turns 30 in May, had 11.5 sacks for the Cowboys last season.

This seems like pure speculation from ESPN’s Falcons beat writer. However, the sentiment is legitimate: Atlanta will be eyeing pass rushers as the free agency window approaches.
At his peak, Quinn was one of the best at getting after the quarterback, racking up 19.5 sacks in 2013 as a member of the Rams. He also made the Pro-Bowl the following year but had been rather quiet ever since. That is, until this past season in which Quinn recorded 11.5 sacks and 22 QB hits in just 14 games for the Cowboys. He signed a one-year pact with Dallas last offseason worth $9.2 million and will surely be looking for a multi-year deal this time around. Quinn’s earned it, but as he approaches 30 years of age, he shouldn’t be too costly.
The Falcons find themselves in a tight cap situation currently, but following the recent cuts of Desmond Trufant, Devonta Freeman, Luke Stocker, and Ty Sambrailo, they’ve opened up enough room to make a run at a middle-tier pass rusher like Quinn. Other names to keep an eye are Mario Addison, Dante Fowler, and Jabaal Sheard. We wrote about a few of those guys here.
