The new league starts in a few weeks, but Falcons fans don’t have to wait for the rumor mill to start churning in Atlanta as Justin Fields continues to be linked to the team.
The connection is obvious. The Bears are expected to trade Fields, and the Falcons have a need for a quarterback. Moreover, he’s a Georgia native and would put butts in seats, so the narrative is there for a potential trade to pick up steam in the media.
Past that though, Fields’ potential is attractive for a club that desperately needs a franchise quarterback. The hope is the playmakers, line, coordinator, and overall structure in Atlanta would help realize his full potential.
Recently on the 33rd Team podcast, he spoke about those weapons in Atlanta that would theoretically be at his disposal if the Falcons and Bears worked out a trade. Along with everyone else, Fields was excited about the possibility…
Justin Fields talking about the #Falcons: "Atlanta would be tough… I think they got a lot of playmakers on the team. Bijan, my boy Kyle [Pitts], and of course Drake [London]. They probably need one more receiver, but they got some guys."

For Falcons fans who love the idea of bringing Fields home to Atlanta, the dream is the dynamic athlete joining three other stars in Kyle Pitts, Drake London, and Bijan Robinson.
At the end of the quote, Fields mentions the Falcons probably need another receiver, and he’s absolutely correct. London alone isn’t going to cut it. Zac Robinson hails from the Sean McVay-style offense, which prioritizes the position within its personnel packages.
Outside of quarterback, it’s the most pressing roster need for the Falcons this offseason. Malik Nabers and Rome Odunze are attractive options at No. 8, but the draft class features a ton of intriguing pass catchers.
