After missing Monday’s practice, Julio Jones returned to the field on Tuesday. The Atlanta Falcons (5-0) have their first division game against the New Orleans Saints (1-4) on Thursday Night. Jones has been a key part to Atlanta’s success on offense thus far, and they will likely need him to suit up Thursday. Leading the team with 43 receptions shows his true value. There is a monumental drop-off to the next most receptions on the team, where running back Devonta Freeman has 23 receptions.
If Jones cannot play Thursday, Leonard Hankerson and Roddy White will likely be the number one and two receivers. Nick Williams likely will have to make an impact, while Jacob Tamme will probably see the most targets he has seen all season. Rookie Justin Hardy will likely be activated for his first game as a Falcon also. Jones is integral part to this offense and Matt Ryan, but seeing him practice today is great news.
