The MLS’ leading scorer and Atlanta United’s beloved striker, Josef Martinez, got his United States Green Card, the team announced Monday. In doing so, the team freed up an international roster spot that will likely be used for Eric Remedi.
Remedi, a midfielder from Argentina was rumored to join the club this week, and now it seems all but a rumor after Monday’s announcement.
The Atlanta United front office has worked incredibly hard on getting Josef’s Green Card, and he is now the fourth player on the team to be granted one. They are not done, however, as Julian Gressel and Leandro Gonzalez Pirez are just a couple names of players who are still eligible to get their Green Cards.
