After a seventh straight match without their leading scorer, many Atlanta United fans were hopeful to see Josef Martinez return right in time for two straight home games. The 23-year-old striker hasn’t seen the pitch since he suffered a left quad injury while playing in a world cup qualifying match for Venezuela.
On Thursday, Sam Jones (@J_SamJones) of @DirtySouthSoc reported that we will have to wait at least another week.
No Josef this week.
Tata just says "Closer."#PrayForJosef #ATLUTD@DirtySouthSoc

“Closer.” While this doesn’t exactly translate to, “he’ll be back and scoring hat tricks against NYCFC”, I’m going to assume that’s what Tata was hinting at. Atlanta United fans can expect to see a lineup similar to last week’s for Saturday’s match against Houston Dynamo.
