Just when things started looking up for the Hawks in the injury department, John Collins — who is the only Hawks player to appear in every game thus far — left Tuesday night’s contest against the Suns with an apparent leg injury. He has since been diagnosed with a sprained ankle and a bone bruise and will be re-evaluated in one week.

Hopefully, this isn’t something that keeps Collins out for too long, but ankle injuries can sometimes linger. Either way, he will miss at least the next five games. The Hawks begin a back-to-back tonight on the road against the Spurs and end it in New Orleans before finally returning home for four games. If everything goes according to plan, and Collins avoids any setbacks, he could be with the team on the following road trip.
We will keep you posted with all the updates regarding Collins’ injury as they become available.
