As the Braves’ bullpen competition has heated up, there has been one candidate who has been absent. Many fans have wondered why we have yet to see an appearance from Jeremy Walker this Spring Training. Now, thanks to David O’Brien of The Athletic, we know why…
Hard-throwing #Braves reliever Jeremy Walker tweaked his shoulder early in camp, Snitker said. Will have to rebuild arm strength once he's cleared to resume throwing. No timetable.

This is surely a bummer. When we have interviewed prospects on our podcast about who the most underrated prospect in the system is; Walker is always the unanimous answer. He made his MLB debut last season and was quite impressive in a small sample size, giving up just 2 runs in 9.1 innings of work.
With Jacob Webb being optioned to Triple-A, this could have been a great opportunity for Walker. However. with no timetable for return, it could be a while before we see the promising young righty again.
Best of luck to Walker in his recovery!
