It seems that Desmond Trufant will be a Falcon in 2020, despite speculation about him being a potential cap casualty:
Raheem Morris mentioned Desmond Trufant was having a productive season last year, highlighting his four picks. Said he’s looking forward to having him back in 2020.

There have been no whispers from the team of a Trufant departure this offseason. However, the Falcons did reportedly consider trade offers for him last season. With Atlanta in a tight cap space situation, “Tru” could have been viewed as an outside cut candidate. However, as our very own Jake Gordon was so kind to point out, Atlanta would not be able to find a better replacement with the $5 million they would be able to save if they were to cut him, and with there likely to be no Post-June 1st cuts, it would have been unwise to move on from him this year. Trufant can be a bit inconsistent at times but is a reliable veteran, and the Falcons’ cornerback group would be very thin without him in the lineup.
Of course, Raheem Morris is not the general manager, but I am sure he has some idea of what his personnel is going to look like for the upcoming season. These comments suggest we will be seeing Trufant in the brand spanking new Falcons uniforms in 2020.
