The Falcons begin a new chapter in the franchise’s book under Raheem Morris this season, and that story will start next week, April 2nd, when players will report to Flowery Branch for workouts with the new staff.
Voluntary minicamp will follow, set to begin April 22nd and run through the 24th, which leads us right into the draft. The Falcons own the 8th overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, which takes place April 25-27 in Detroit.
Rookies will then report to camp, but that date has yet to be set. The Falcons will either have their 2024 draft class report from May 3-6 or May 10-13. Offseason training activities begin immediately after rookie minicamp.
Here are the dates leading up to training camp:
First day: April 2
Voluntary Minicamp: April 22-24
OTA offseason workouts: May 13-14, May 16, May 20-21, May 23, June 3-4, June 6
Mandatory minicamp: June 10-12
The Falcons will then break until the end of July for training camp, and all eyes will be on Kirk Cousins, who is still making his way back from a ruptured Achilles injury.
Atlanta expects him to be back and healthy before Week 1, but there needs to be some semblance of a connection before the first game. Cousins is familiarizing himself with Kyle Pitts, Drake London, and other Falcons pass catchers, but nothing beats live reps.
We’ll see how much he can do this summer.
