According to Adrian Wojnarowski, an MRI revealed a Grade 2 lateral sprain on Trae Young’s left ankle, which is the best possible news for the Hawks’ All-Star point guard as he’ll be able to return once swelling and discomfort are gone.

Atlanta lost in overtime to the Knicks after Young left the game. The Hawks were up 95-87 when he went down and lost by double-digits in overtime. This shouldn’t be unexpected as multiple players, Young himself, told the media it wasn’t that bad. Clint Capela offered his take on the situation via The Athletic’s Chris Kirschner.

Young, himself, eased fans worries too…

The Hawks really need Young if they expect to make any noise in the playoffs. Hopefully, the rest of the team can hold on until their focal point returns.
