The Hawks have opted to sign two players that stood out to them from their Summer League Roster. According to the AJC, Terran Patteway and Lamar Patterson were both signed to two-year, partially guaranteed contracts. Both will be present for training camp.
Patterson was drafted in the second round of last year’s draft by the Hawks, but the team negotiated a contract with him to play overseas in Turkey. They like what they see out of Patterson with another year of development under his belt. He was a standout at Pitt, and can be a solid addition to the bench.
Terran Petteway forewent his senior year at Nebreaska to put his name in the draft, but this tactic did not turn out to be best for the wing, as he went undrafted. He showed promise in the Summer League, but it’s truly surprising to see him get a  contract over the likes of Glenn Robinson III, who really stood out.
The Hawks have only one roster spot left for 2015-16, so unless moves are made it appears Patterson and Petteway will have to duke it out for a roster spot in camp. It should be a fun battle, but I’m putting my money on Patterson.
