The Hawks have made a sneaky solid signing, adding former 6th overall pick Jarrett Culver on a two-way deal.
Hawks sign former 6th overall pick Jarrett Culver to a two way deal.

Culver or De’Andre Hunter was a real debate when the Hawks held the 4th overall pick in the 2019 draft. The Hawks took De’Andre Hunter and Cam Reddish with their two picks, and Culver went to Minnesota.
Coming out of Texas Tech, Culver was praised for his tenacious defense and potential as a shooter. He never lived up to his draft billing for the Timberwolves, but he’s still only 23 years old. Culver was released by Minnesota after two bad seasons, and he played with the Grizzlies in 2021-2022. He has yet to shoot over 30% from three in a professional season and has only been an average to above average defender. Hopefully, the Hawks can unlock his defensive skillset because he could be an interesting ball stopper off the bench. With a two-way deal, this is a low-risk, potentially high-reward move that I’m a fan of.
