A lot of news has come through regarding all of Atlanta’s sports teams, but this is something totally out of the blue. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Hawks have agreed to a four-year contract extension worth $68 million with Bogdan Bogdanovic.

As part of the deal, Bogdanovic declined his player option for 2023-2024, so his new contract will begin next season.
I thought it was likely the Hawks parted ways with Bogdanovic at the end of the season. It’s overwhelmingly apparent this roster needs a makeover, and while Bogi has done a lot of good in his time with Atlanta, health has always been a concern.
However, with Quin Snyder now in the building, it’s evident he is fond of what Bogdanovic brings to the floor. He’s the best shooter on the team and an underrated playmaker. Since the firing of Nate McMillan, Bogdanovic is averaging 12.3 points and is shooting nearly 50% from three.
I like Bogi’s fit in Snyder’s up-tempo offense that aims to rattle opponents with a monsoon of three-point attempts. However, the Hawks desperately need to make changes to this core if they ever want to seriously compete in the Eastern Conference.
