The Atlanta hype train is full speed ahead, and even with multiple key pieces missing — the Hawks DOMINATED on the road.

Trae got even hotter, and Atlanta notched an eye-popping 83 points before the half:
83 points is the second-most first half points scored in a team's opening night game IN NBA HISTORY.

Trae Young just recorded his 41st 30-point, 5-assist game. Three more than Steve Nash (38) had throughout his entire NBA career and five more than Jason Kidd (36) had throughout his entire NBA career. pic.twitter.com/lcIFNO7lCy

Legitimately didn't know you could go over 100 percent

Trae Young has joined Michael Jordan as the only two players in NBA history to have 37+ points, 5+ assists and 5+ rebounds with less than 27 minutes played. pic.twitter.com/52mdcufjwo

Trae having 37 points in 25 minutes on 12 shots should basically be impossible. He played like an MVP candidate tonight. Cam Reddish notched 2 steals and looked like the player he was at the end of 2020. DeAndre Hunter was very efficient, and 7 Hawks finished in double figures for scoring. Even rookies Nathan Knight and Skylar Mays saw action in this game. Bruno Fernando chipped in 7 rebounds and Brandon Goodwin played well in limited action. Final box score:
Stats from objectively the greatest basketball game of all time:
Young: 37/6/7 (5/6 3P)
Reddish: 15/6
Hunter: 11/3/1
Collins: 14/4/2
Gallo: 13/4/3
Huerter: 11/2/4
Bogi: 15/7/2Hawks shoot 54% from the floor & 40% from 3.
