According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, multiple teams are interested in acquiring third-year wing Cam Reddish prior to the trade deadline.
Rival teams are expressing interest in Hawks swingman Cam Reddish, but those teams believe Atlanta seeks a first-round draft pick for Reddish, sources said. Reddish is averaging career highs across several offensive categories this season, including 11.1 points per game and 37 percent 3-point shooting.
This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. Teams have been attempting to pry Reddish away from the Hawks ever since they drafted him, and there will only be more interest now that he is in the middle of the best season of his career. The former Duke Blue Devil is averaging 11.1 points per game on 40.1% from the field and 37% from three-point land off the bench.
Unless the Hawks get a first-round pick around the lottery, I can’t imagine them moving on from Reddish, especially with De’Andre Hunter out with a wrist injury for at least another month. There’s still a belief in the organization that Reddish can blossom into something special, which is why — despite all the trade rumors over the years — he’s remained in Atlanta. I don’t expect that to change unless someone comes up with an offer that really wows Travis Schlenk.
