During the third quarter of the Magic vs. Hawks game on Wednesday evening, Bob Rathbun and Dominique Wilkins brought Travis Schlenk on the broadcast to discuss the current state of the Hawks. On top of providing some hilarious and blunt play-by-play commentary, Schlenk also finally gave us a timetable for Capela’s return, though it seems nothing is definite:
On Hawks TV, Travis Schlenk said "maybe in the middle of March" for a Clint Capela return.

Schlenk discussed the injuries Capela has been dealing with. He says his plantar fasciitis has come along nicely, but he is now trying to get past his heel bruise. He reiterated that it is better to be safe than sorry — there is no doubt about that in a rebuilding year.
A mid-March return would be rather promising, as it would give Capela 10-14 games to build chemistry with the Hawks’ young core, and for the coaching staff and front office to examine the fit. Some expressed concern with he and John Collins sharing the paint, but with the way Collins has been utilizing his inside/outside game, it seems unlikely this should be an issue.
The hope is that the former Rockets big man can bring some defensive stability to a team that has struggled mightily on that end, and excel in the pick and roll game with young star point guard Trae Young. He is also among the best rebounders in the entire NBA. Hopefully, Capela can be a big part of the Hawks becoming a more competitive team in the 2020-21 season.
