It’s possible that John Collins’ market is heating up.
The Raptors and Cavaliers are engaged in active talks on potential Andre Drummond deal to Toronto/Tampa, per sources.

This is behind a paywall, but Shams is reporting that his sources tell him that Atlanta is looking to add a lottery pick and potentially more in exchange for Collins. I’m not sure which team fits that bill right now so early in the season, but teams like Minnesota, Washington, Cleveland, Oklahoma City, and potentially the Knicks could make sense.
As Chase noted, trading Collins is a tricky process. Not only is he a fantastic player, but Travis Schlenk and Lloyd Pierce are under immense pressure to make the playoffs. Trading Collins with a rotation that is ravaged by injuries could effectively be waving the white flag. I’m in favor of extending Collins, but it’s clear the front office is thinking about life beyond JC.
