Within a couple of hours of each other, two Hawks free agents signed new deals. Saddiq Bey inked a three-year, $20 million contract with the Wizards, and Vit Krejci agreed to a four-year, $10 million contract to return to Atlanta, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

Krejci received a qualifying offer last month, making him a restricted free agent. Now, the 24-year-old returns to the Hawks.
The 37th overall pick of the 2020 draft spent the season on a two-way contract and now gets an upgrade. The lengthy combo guard was traded from the Thunder to the Hawks in September 2022 but was eventually waived in August of last year on a non-guaranteed deal before returning in December on a two-way deal.
Eventually, he became a regular in the rotation last season, mostly due to injury. In 22 games, including 14 starts, Krejci averaged 6.1 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists on an extremely efficient .490/.412/.833 shooting split.
At 6-foot-8, Krejci assumed a role on the wing and became one of the Hawks most reliable shooters from deep down the stretch. His best moment came in the Hawks win over the Celtics in which he scored 16 points, shooting 4-of-7 from three-point range.
The Hawks are getting much bigger this offseason. With Zaccharie Risacher and Dyson Daniels now in the fold, Atlanta is stockpiling lengthy wings that can play in the backcourt with Trae Young.
Vit Krejci is another step in that direction. He’s certainly coming into a bench role, but as we’ve seen, Quin Snyder will reward those who deserve more playing time.
