The Hawks snapped their seven-game win steak Saturday night by losing 99-90 to the Knicks. However, the more significant loss was having two of their core players go down with injury.
First, Cam Reddish left the game with a left wrist injury and did not return. The Hawks say he underwent an MRI, which revealed a left wrist sprain. His status will be updated based on how he responds to his daily treatment.
Minutes later, Bogdanovic joined him in the locker room after going down with a lower leg injury. MRIs confirmed that he sprained his ankle, and he will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
It’s disappointing because this has been an ongoing issue for the Hawks. Last season, despite making the Eastern Conference Finals, nearly every core player missed significant time, and several guys could not contribute in the playoffs. Now, the Hawks are already without three key pieces. De’Andre Hunter is expected to miss another two months after his wrist surgery. Thankfully, it’s still early in the season, but Hawks fans are dying to see what this team can look like at full strength.
