After refusing to match Atlanta’s 4 year, $72 million offer sheet — Bogi is coming to the Hawks.
It’s been a fantastic offseason in Atlanta, and the additions of the former Sacramento Kings shooting guard is the icing on the cake. From my free agency wish list:
2020 Stats: 15.1 PPG, 3.4 RPG, 3.4 APG, 44% FG, 37.2% 3P
There was a sign and trade to Milwaukee in place, but the Kings forgot one thing — Bogdanović never agreed to it. Now it’s reported that Atlanta is a front-runner for him.
Bogdanović makes way too much sense for the Hawks; he’s a walking bucket. His defense is pretty average, but he’d thrive off of dimes from Trae Young.
Bogdanović will probably take on a starter’s role. A stable of wings featuring Reddish, Hunter, Huerter, Bogdanović, Snell, and Hill provides a nice mix of shooting and defensive upside. The additions of Rajon Rondo and Kris Dunn should also help take pressure off of these guys, and Clint Capela will finally be featured for Atlanta down low.
Things are looking bright for the Hawks. Bogdanović feels like the final piece of this offseason puzzle. Stay tuned for my salary cap outlook and roster breakdown coming soon. Hawks fans should be feeling very excited about this season!
Welcome to Atlanta, Bogdan!
