Nicolo Melli has been of interest to the Hawks for a very long time. The Hawks were reportedly interested in him back in 2013 and offered him a contract last summer. The fact that he has turned down an offer from the Hawks may not bode well for the future. However, Melli has had other plans before pursuing his childhood dream of playing in the NBA. He wants to win the EuroLeague before making the jump. Nevertheless, it appears the Hawks still have him on their radar for the foreseeable future:
Sky Sports Italy mentioning that Jazz, Hawks and Nets remain interested in Nicolò Melli and they might try to sign him next season. As reported in the past, I can confirm that both Hawks and Nets are interested in Italian forward and they already had contacts with him this summer

Melli is a dual citizen of Italy and the United States, and he will have suitors from multiple teams if he decides to go that route. He was second-team all EuroLeague last season and is entering his prime at age 27. Keep him on your radar next summer.
