ESPN’s basketball guru Adrian Wojarnowski reported earlier today that the Hawks have narrowed in on 76ers assistant Lloyd Pierce for their vacant head coaching position.
Story filed to ESPN: Philadelphia 76ers assistant Lloyd Pierce has emerged as the primary focus of the Atlanta Hawks head coaching search. Pierce traveled to Atlanta today and met with team officials for a third time in the process.

Pierce along with other NBA assistants Nate Tibbetts, Stephen Silas and Jay Larranaga were reported earlier in the week as potential candidates for the job, but it appears as if the Hawks have zeroed in on Pierce.
The hiring of Pierce makes a great deal of sense considering the rebuild the Hawks are currently going through. Pierce is known as a great player developer, particularly with guards, and was integral in the development of “The Process” in Philadelphia. Atlanta is clearly going through a process of their own at the moment, and it looks like it could just be a matter of time before they officially name the man to lead it.
