With the draft a week away, trade rumors are beginning to swirl, and the Hawks have been heavily involved from the start. Last week, Kevin O’Connor reported that Atlanta is interested in making a playoff run as early as this season and is willing to part ways with the sixth overall pick in return for a piece that can help them win now. Today, Marc Stein confirmed these rumors, reporting that the Hawks are involved in a multi-team trade scenario that could bring guard Jrue Holiday to Atlanta.
The Hawks have emerged as a potential trade destination for New Orleans' Jrue Holiday in multi-team trade scenarios that would involve Atlanta's No. 6 pick in next week's draft, league sources say

Over the past three seasons with the Pelicans, Holiday has taken his game to the next level, averaging nearly 20 points and 7 assists per contest while playing elite perimeter defense. He is considered one of the best two-way guards in the league, but it seems the Pelicans are looking to build around their young core, making Holiday expendable.Â
The veteran is entering his 12th season in the league but will only be 30-years-old. Pairing him with Young would fill the Hawks most glaring need and immediately make them playoff contenders. However, it’s worth noting that Holiday is expected to opt-out of his contract after next season, so whoever makes a move for him is likely trading for a rental and would have to hope he would be willing to re-sign.Â
