If things weren’t already bleak for the Hawks following back-to-back terrible losses, they’re only getting worse. Shams Charania reported today that All-Star guard Dejounte Murray is expected to miss at least two weeks after the injury he suffered last night against the Knicks.
Hawks All-Star Dejounte Murray is expected to miss two weeks with a left ankle sprain, sources tell me and @sam_amick. Atlanta now has Murray, John Collins (ankle) and De'Andre Hunter (hip) sidelined.

If you’re keeping track at home, the Hawks have now lost John Collins, De’Andre Hunter, and Dejounte Murray to injury. To add insult to injury, Trae Young was recently involved in a spat with his head coach Nate McMillan, resulting in the All-Star point guard skipping last Friday’s game entirely. And of course, the Hawks also lost to the measly Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday night and followed it up with arguably their worst performance of the season on Wednesday against the Knicks.
Atlanta is now 13-12, which is good for 5th in the Eastern Conference. However, with all of the injuries, it’s hard imagining it will stay that way for long. We may only be 25 games into the Trae Young and Dejounte Murray era, but this is an organization that feels like it needs wholesale changes before things improve.
