Many were hoping that big man Clint Capela, who was acquired prior to the trade deadline, would be ready to return in mid-March. However, it seems the waiting game has been extended. Per a press release from the team, this is when he will next be re-evaluated, in two weeks from now, along with another recent acquisition, Skal Labissiere:

Per the press release, both players have progressed and are introducing impact activities to their rehabilitation work. At Monday’s practice, they were on side courts doing individual drill work, and they seem to be coming along. But with Atlanta well out of the playoff mix, it makes complete sense to play things safe. There are less than 20 games remaining, and time is running out for these two to return, but hopefully, both can get a cup of coffee with the team before the season concludes. While Capela may be the guy most fans are excited to see, Labissiere is a restricted free agent this summer, so Atlanta will want to get a taste of what he can offer before handing him a contract, even if he has been a longtime target of Travis Schlenk’s.
We will provide any further updates if necessary.
