The Hawks just officially announced the Dejounte Murray trade, but there could be another acquisition on the horizon. Shams Charania reported a couple of hours ago that Kevin Durant has requested a trade out of Brooklyn.

Prior to the Murray trade, the Hawks were reportedly prepared to make the Nets an offer for KD, according to Chris Kirschner. The Hawks unloaded two of their own first-round picks as well as the Hornets’ first-rounder that they received after trading Cam Reddish to the Knicks, but they still might have the draft capital to swing a deal for Durant.
John Collins has reportedly been involved in trade discussions; Kevin Huerter, De’Andre Hunter, and Onyeka Okongwu are all desirable young pieces as well. Travis Schlenk and Landry Fields could put together quite an attractive offer, and Vegas thinks so too. According to Fox Bet Live, Atlanta has the fourth-best odds to land the Slim Reaper.

This type of a move is franchise-altering. It would be the most significant acquisition in the club’s history. However, I wouldn’t get your hopes up; KD’s preferred destinations are Phoenix, Miami, and Philadelphia. Still, he doesn’t control his own destiny. It’ll be Sean Marks‘ decision, which will come down to which organization offers the most enticing deal.
