Georgia commit Brady Marchese continues trend for the Bulldogs

COLLEGE FOOTBALL: APR 15 Georgia G Day Red and Black Spring Game

Over the weekend, 6-foot-1, 185-pound wide receiver Brady Marchese committed to the Georgia Bulldogs. Marchese is a member of the Class of 2026 and is the third member of the current six-commit class for Georgia from Peach State. That is a continuance of a trend for Kirby Smart’s squad in the revenue sharing and NIL era. Georgia’s 2025 recruiting class featured the most in-state signees in the Smart era, with 21 high school signees and two transfers from Georgia. In a time of uncertainty and perpetual free agency, Georgia’s approach is shifting toward finding the best fit for the team athletically and players invested in playing for the red and black.

Marchese is also a somewhat under-the-radar prospect with elite speed. That continues another trend for Georgia at the wideout position. Ladd McConkey started the trend and turned out to be an all-time great for the Dawgs. McConkey, like Marchese, was a player from the state of Georgia that didn’t have highest ranking from recruiting services before announcing his allegiance to the Dawgs. Secovie White and Landon Roldon each fit that description as well. White was a Class of 2024 signee and Roldon was in the 2025 class. Both are looking to make their mark on the revamped Georgia wide receiving core this year. Like Marchese, both are explosive after the catch and can eat up space in a hurry.

When watching the Cartersville High School standout on film, you see a player that plays with physicality to him, even at a skill position. Marchese has a powerful frame and can add weight in college while still maintaining his athleticism. Marchese also shows the ability to make contested catches. All of this is welcomed by Georgia wide receiver coach James Coley, who is working hard to make the receiver room a strength for the Dawgs and not a relative weakness as it was in the 2024 season.
