The Georgia Bulldogs have secured two massive transfer portal commitments from brothers in former USC wide receiver Zachariah Branch and safety Zion Branch. The Branch brothers will fill major positions of need for the Dawgs.
Known for his explosive playmaking abilities, Zachariah Branch is expected to play a pivotal role in revitalizing Georgia’s receiving corps following several key departures this offseason. He showcased his versatility and speed during his tenure with the Trojans. In 2024, he was USC’s second-leading receiver, amassing 47 receptions for 503 yards and one touchdown. Over his two-year collegiate career, he accumulated 78 catches for 823 yards and four total touchdowns, including one rushing score. Zachariah is also a very dangerous punt returner.
Anthony Evans and Michael Jackson have already entered the transfer portal for Georgia this offseason. Dominic Lovett and Arian Smith are moving on to pursue careers in the pro ranks. Dillon Bell has yet to make a decision on his future. Regardless, Zachariah Branch will be a much-needed boost and playmaker for Georgia in 2025.
Likewise, Zion Branch will add depth to a safety room that will be depleted with the departure of longtime Dawg Dan Jackson and the likely NFL Draft departure of Malaki Starks. Zion Branch brings experience to Georgia, having played in 21 games for USC, tallying 41 tackles, 3 tackles for a loss, and a sack in his time with the Trojans.
Georgia knew it needed to reload after losing to Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl. The Branch Brothers haul is a huge start in doing just that.
