Some early 2023 Heisman odds have been released, and they should be particularly interesting for fans of the Georgia Bulldogs.

Sitting there with the sixth-best odds — tied with Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers — is Georgia quarterback Brock Vandagriff at +1300 or 13/1.
The reason that is so intriguing is because Vandagriff isn’t even expected to start next season. Even though it is said to be an open competition in Athens, Carson Beck served as Stetson Bennett’s backup all season and performed very well at the end of games when called upon. He even saw time in Georgia’s blowout of TCU in the National Championship game.
On the season, Beck completed a remarkable 74.3% of his passes for four touchdowns and no interceptions. He looked the part of a collegiate starting quarterback and will have the upper hand going into camp, but Vegas doesn’t see it that way. They favor the former five-star recruit Vandagriff, and believe he will be a problem if he wins the starting job.
The starting quarterback competition at Georgia will be a topic of discussion all offseason. I still think Beck should be considered the favorite to win the job, but Vegas usually knows the behind the scenes details that us normal folk are not aware of. Regardless, whoever starts at quarterback for the Bulldogs should be mentioned among the Heisman favorites to begin the season. They are all ultra-talented, and rest of Georgia’s offense, including their offensive coordinator, should make the quarterbacks life very easy.
