The Georgia Bulldogs have bolstered their secondary by securing former Miami Hurricane safety Jaden Harris from the transfer portal. A native of Riverwood, Georgia, Harris brings valuable experience and depth to a safety room undergoing significant turnover this offseason.
Longtime starter Dan Jackson has exhausted his collegiate eligibility and is pursuing a professional career, while two-time All-American Malaki Starks recently declared for the 2025 NFL Draft, leaving a massive void in the secondary. The depth chart was further impacted when reserves Jake Pope and David Daniel-Sisavanh entered the transfer portal, with Daniel-Sisavanh leaving the team in July after being dismissed for reckless driving.
During his two seasons at Miami, Harris displayed versatility and playmaking ability, recording 47 tackles, two passes defensed, 1.5 sacks, and one interception. His experience will be vital in guiding a safety group that features standout freshman All-American KJ Bolden and rising junior Joenel Aguero. Harris’ ability to adapt to Georgia’s defensive schemes under safeties coach and co-defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson could elevate his game and help him correct some of the inconsistencies he faced at Miami.
