Just when things were starting to go well for the Braves, dreadful news came following Freddie Freeman’s exit in the bottom of the 5th of last night’s game. Freeman was hit by a pitch on the hand and was in visible pain after the action. Fingers were crossed that the damage would be minimal, but it appears Freeman will be missing “significant” time following the incident.

Heyman also said in his report that there is no timetable for the return of Freeman back into the lineup and his wrist might be broken. One thing is for sure: Atlanta is preparing for life without Freeman and is searching for alternative options at first base. Whoever the replacement is will have some big shoes to fill. Freeman was batting .341 and tied for the major-league lead in home-runs with 14.
