Kaden Elliss was named the Falcons’ best-kept secret by Bleacher Report, and a familiar face was named the Jaguars’ best-kept secret.
Jacksonville Jaguars: LB Foyesade Oluokun
How Oluokun hasn’t made a Pro Bowl or earned an All-Pro bid is a mystery not even Sherlock Holmes or Nancy Drew could solve.
All the linebacker has done since entering the league six years ago is produce with nearly 820 total tackles. He led the league in back-to-back years with 192 in 2021 and 184 in 2022.
Granted, last season was a down year with only 173 takedowns, which ranked just fourth in the NFL. Additionally, the Yale product is on a streak of three consecutive years with triple-digit solo tackles and has topped the charts for the metric each of the last two seasons with 128 and 111, respectively.
The Falcons let Foye Oluokun walk in free agency a few years ago, and he’s done nothing but find success with the Jaguars. Oluokun and the Jags agreed on a new four-year deal worth $45 million earlier in the offseason to keep the Yale product in Jacksonville for a few more seasons.
The former Falcons standout led the league in solo tackles the past two seasons, recording 128 solo stops in 2022 and 111 last season. In his final year in Atlanta, Oluokun put up 192 tackles, a number that nobody has matched in the 21st century.
The Falcons are certainly happy with their linebacker core, though. Kaden Elliss has proven to be an above-average player at his position, and behind him are two exciting pieces in Troy Andersen and Nate Landman.
Andersen is expected back this season after suffering a season-ending injury at the beginning of the 2023 campaign. The former second-round pick has a high ceiling because of his athletic ability, and 2024 is a big opportunity for him.
If he can’t capitalize, Landman will be there to seize the chance to play next to Elliss.
