Former Falcons QB Michael Vick trying to break into coaching

As the trend of former NFL stars turning into coaching continues, former Falcons quarterback Michael Vick might be next in line. According to The Virginian Pilot, Vick interviewed for the Norfolk State head coaching vacancy.

“I know how to lead and I know what it takes,” Vick told The Pilot.

Norfolk State recently fired Dawson Odums after he compiled a 15-31 record during his four seasons. Though Vick has no experience, Deion Sanders has paved the way for other former NFL stars to break into coaching.

Vick is currently an analyst for the NFL on FOX, but the former Falcons great should be able to convince someone to give him an opportunity on the sidelines if that’s what he wants. Sanders started at the High School level before moving to Jackson State and then Colorado, which is a path that Teddy Bridgwater has also taken on.

Mike Vick has enough cache in plenty of areas to garner some sort of opportunity. Hopefully, he will succeed in his next venture.
