Though he’s holding out for one last crack as a starting quarterback in the NFL, Matt Ryan is assuming a new role in 2023, joining CBS in the broadcast booth. Today, his assignments for the first three weeks of the season were announced:

Here is when we will see the Falcons great:
Week 1: Minnesota Vikings vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Week 2: Cincinnati Bengals vs. Baltimore Ravens
Week 3: Washington Commanders vs. Buffalo Bills
Though his career hasn’t gone the way he or Falcons fans had hoped since the 2016 Super Bowl, Matt Ryan has landed on his feet.
The Falcons didn’t do right by the greatest quarterback in franchise history — i.e., roster building and pursuing Deshaun Watson. However, the Colts also didn’t do right by Ryan. Indianapolis didn’t hold their end of the bargain with him; the offensive line went from one of the best to one of the worst, and the defense took a considerable step back.
Thankfully, it seems Ryan will still be around the game. Following the 2022 regular season, he spent time on the CBS pregame show, where he looked like a natural. A career in the broadcasting booth isn’t easy; plenty of big names have flamed out. He seems like he would do very well in that role, though. If this is the end of his playing career, the next chapter is set to begin.
