An old Falcons friend is back in the league, or at least trying to make it back. According to Brian Costello, 2017 first-round pick Takk McKinley is participating at Jets minicamp as a tryout player.

Takk McKinley’s career hasn’t gone exactly the way he had hoped, or how Thomas Dimitroff and Dan Quinn thought it would.
McKinley made an impression immediately when the Falcons selected him 26th in the 2017 NFL Draft, but he never lived up to expectations. Across four seasons with the Falcons, he recorded only 17.5 sacks in 49 games.
The club didn’t exercise his fifth-year option, and McKinley bounced around the league over the next couple of years, spending time in Cincinnati, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Cleveland, and Dallas.
He tried out for the Saints last year and is still holding out hope for a final opportunity. At this point, that seems like a lot of wishful thinking for the former Falcons pass rusher, but this league has generated wilder stories before, so never say never.
