Five Braves named to the NL All-Star team – The All-Star reserves were announced today and five Braves will represent the National League. Ronald Acuña will be starting in the outfield, and William Contreras will also be in the starting lineup as the DH, replacing Bryce Harper. Joining those two are Dansby Swanson, Travis d’Arnaud, and Max Fried.
It's official: With Bryce Harper out, Atlanta's William Contreras will start at DH for the National League alongside his brother, Willson, the Cubs' catcher.
They'll be the first brothers to start on the same All-Star team since Roberto and Sandy Alomar in 1992.

Who could join them, was there a snub?
The most notable Brave left off the roster is Austin Riley. He’s more than deserving of a spot, and I imagine he will be added in the coming days, especially if there is an injury. Riley is fourth in the National League in OPS and second in homers. He also might be the hottest player on the planet right now.
Other snubs include Kyle Wright and A.J. Minter. Wright’s breakout campaign has him on pace to win nearly 20 games and he boasts a sub-3.00 ERA. Minter has been one of the best relievers in baseball all season. He owns a 1.70 ERA over a league-leading 40 appearances. There’s no reason he shouldn’t be included, but it’s extremely difficult for relievers that aren’t closers to make the All-Star game. The reality is the rosters should just include more pitchers. There were a ton of talented arms snubbed. Not everyone needs to actually pitch in the game, but they deserve the recognition.
