As was speculated before the game by multiple Atlanta media outlets and fans, Younghoe Koo wasn’t right on Sunday against Chicago.
I suspect Koo got hurt in warmups. Would explain why Hofrichter is kicking the ball off.

We now have confirmation that Aaron’s speculation was correct.
#Falcons kicker Younghoe Koo is expected to miss some time with a groin strain, per source. He gutted it out Sunday, but couldn't kick off. Short-term IR a possibility.

Koo missing an extra point and a 40-yard field goal was no accident. Unfortunately, those four points cost Atlanta in a 30-26 loss.
The Statesboro product has been solid for the Falcons since being cut by the Chargers in 2017 and joining the team in the middle of last season. Koo has also dazzled fans with his onside kick magic.
Sterling Hofrichter will more than likely handle kickoff duties in his absence, but the Falcons will have to bring in someone for field goal and extra point duties. Hopefully, Koo gets better soon, especially if the club needs an onside kick in a pinch. He is 31-35 for his career in Atlanta and 8-9 on kicks in 2020.
