It was reported today by Jordan Schultz that the trade market for Calvin Ridley would be robust as multiple suitors expressed interest to the Falcons. Well, that report quickly became stale because Tom Pelissero just dropped a bomb on the NFL world. Calvin Ridley will be suspended for at least the 2022 season after he admitted to betting on NFL games last year.
The NFL is suspending #Falcons WR Calvin Ridley indefinitely for at least the 2022 season for gambling on NFL games after he left the team last season.

Here’s the letter from the NFL on the suspension:

For the Falcons, this situation just got a whole lot muddier. Not only will they be without Ridley in 2022, but his trade value is completely shot. I’m sure we’ll get an official comment from several members of the organization in the coming days, but right now, it’s tough to gauge what will happen next. At the very least, we know the Falcons won’t be on the hook for the nearly $12 million of Ridley’s salary, so they are officially under the cap going into next season.
