The Washington Football Team has requested permission to interview #Falcons Director of Football Operations Nick Polk for their open GM job, sources say. Polk is a respected member of the front office and he’s spent nearly two decades in Atlanta.

This might not be a name that either fan bases recognize immediately, but Nick Polk is an integral part of the Falcons. He has been with the team for 16 years in some capacity, but most recently as the teams’ salary cap expert. This is a highly coveted skill among general manager candidates with the league’s shrinking salary cap.
This could be bad for an Atlanta team that’s already in muddy waters with the 2021 salary cap. Working with a new capologist could prove detrimental to a new general manager, but maybe Fontenot has his own guy. Washington would be lucky to have a guy like Polk, an administrative type that would leave Ron Rivera free focus on the personnel.
