The Atlanta Falcons host the Green Bay Packers on Sunday in a clash between two 1-0 teams. Man… that feels good to say.
As we’ve talked about all week, this will be a fantastic test for the Falcons. Green Bay is in a similar place as Atlanta. A lot of people were writing them off before the season, but they looked like legitimate playoff contenders in Week 1. Both teams want to pound the rock and ease their young quarterbacks into the game with easy completions.
On the other side of the ball, the Falcons new-look defense was spectacular against the Panthers, led by reigning NFC Defensive Player of the Week Jessie Bates III. There was buzz about this group coming into the season, and they lived up to it in Week 1, but the Packers should prove to be a much more formidable test.
Green Bay also features a talented defense that made life a living hell for Justin Fields and the Bears in Week 1. The Falcons offensive line and Desmond Ridder will have to be much better, or they are going to run into even more trouble this Sunday than they did against the Panthers.
