Following the Falcons recent roster moves, let’s take a look at my updated predictions for the 53-man roster:

Special Teams
LS Liam McCullough
Pretty standard group here, especially after Seth Vernon was cut, leaving Bradley Pinion as the only rostered punter. It’s tough to say goodbye to longtime Falcon Josh Harris, but McCullough seems like he has the job on lock.
Defensive Line
DL1 Grady Jarrett
DL2 Marlon Davidson
DL3 Ta’Quon Graham
DL4 Anthony Rush
I’m not sure if the Falcons will keep four or five defensive linemen, but I really like what Derrick Tangelo has done up to this point. He and Timmy Horne are both undrafted free agents having a fantastic camp, and one of them could steal a roster spot from the oft-injured Marlon Davidson if they continue to play well. At worst, these guys have to be on the practice squad.
EDGE
EDGE1 Lorenzo Carter
EDGE2 Arnold Ebiketie
EDGE3 DeAngelo Malone
EDGE4 Ade Ogundeji
No changes here. It feels like it has been a long time since the Falcons have had four quality edge rushers, but I’m bullish on this group. Watch out for Quinton Bell to get a spot here too; it really just comes down to numbers with guys like him. He has shown flashes in camp and could make his way onto the roster.
Linebacker
LB1 Rashaan Evans
LB2 Mykal Walker
LB3 Nick Kwiatkoski
LB4 Troy Andersen
LB5 Nate Landman
While predicting that Deion Jones starts the season on the IR, Nate Landman making the roster is my bold prediction for the defense. From the jump, he has been my favorite undrafted free agent out of the group. With Troy Andersen probably taking somewhat of a redshirt year while adjusting to the NFL, Landman is primed to steal a few snaps as a true enforcer up the middle. I like his potential; at worst he should be a practice squad member.
Cornerback
CB1 AJ Terrell
CB2 Casey Hayward
CB3 Isaiah Oliver
CB4 Darren Hall
CB5 Dee Alford
No changes here; I never had LaFayette Pitts on my original projection. Alford played very well in Atlanta’s first two preseason games, and if he keeps it up, he’s going to earn a roster spot in a thin group. Other than that, this group feels pretty standard. Mike Ford is definitely in play to be CB6; it just depends if the staff is high enough on Landman to keep him over an extra defensive back. With linebacker being a bit shaky and some of the safeties being able to handle some corner duties, I don’t think it’s ridiculous at this point.
Safety
S1 Richie Grant
S3 Erik Harris
S4 Dean Marlowe
I’m not sure if Grant or Hawkins will be starters come Week 1, but I think they should be in consideration. They’re listed at the top of the depth chart, so hopefully, that remains true come time to play the Saints. Hawkins was fantastic last year, and I like what I saw out of Grant in limited action. Harris and Marlowe are quality safety depth.
