After much anticipation, the Falcons have unveiled Bijan Robinson’s jersey number… and it is glorious:

Now, obviously, Younghoe Koo gave Robinson #7 and will don a new jersey in 2023, but I couldn’t have picked a better number for the Texas product that Atlanta drafted with the 8th overall pick.
Robinson will be the 9th player in franchise history to rock the number. It began back in 1966 with Wade Traynham, then was passed to Pat Sullivan in 1972, then Hugh Millen in 188, Perry Klein in 1994, Browning Nagle in 1996, Tony Graziani in 1999, and the most recognizable #7 in Falcons history, Michael Vick in 2001.
I won’t even temper my expectations. Bijan Robinson will be the greatest Falcons player ever to wear #7, and I have said on several occasions that he will be the biggest sports star in Atlanta, which is saying something considering Ronald Acuna is arguably a top 3 talent in the MLB and Trae Young is well on his way to being one of the greatest Hawks of all time.
Robinson is just that special. Numbers don’t really matter, but these jersey sales will be off the charts. I’d be willing to wager that Robinson’s #7 will be the most-bought Falcons jersey and one of the top jerseys sold league-wide.
