A pair of Falcons received PFWA honors on Tuesday. Chris Lindstrom was named to the Professional Football Writers of America‘s 2022 All-NFC team, while Tyler Allgeier was named to the PFWA 2022 All-Rookie team.

Lindstrom earned Pro Bowl recognition for the first time in his career to go along with his AP All-Pro second-team honors.
The former first-round pick is entering the final year of his rookie deal and will be looking to sign a long-term contract extension this offseason. He’ll be under team control, playing on his fifth-year option in 2023, but it would be wise for Atlanta to get ahead of the curve and lock him up for the rest of his prime years.
Allgeier joins Seahawks’ Kenneth Walker as the two running backs on the rookie team. The former fifth-round pick broke out in 2022, becoming the Falcons’ all-time rookie rusher, totaling 1,035 yards and three touchdowns while averaging 4.9 yards per carry.
Allgeier has proven valuable in Arthur Smith’s run-heavy offense, and I expect him to be the team’s featured back in 2023. Cordarrelle Patterson is electric, but he’s a veteran and has missed time in each of his two seasons in Atlanta. It would save his legs for a potential playoff push later in the year.
Congratulations to both Chris Lindstrom and Tyler Allgeier on amazing seasons!
