Falcons trade deadline target taken off the market

Falcons trade targets

The NFL trade deadline is about 24 hours away, but the moves have already begun, and one Falcons target is already off the market.

According to Tom Pelissero, the Broncos are trading edge rusher Baron Browning to the Cardinals in exchange for a Day 3 draft pick.

Browning was among my under-the-radar trade targets for the Falcons. The former off-ball linebacker lost his starting job while on the injured reserve and is in a contract year, so many believed him to be on the trade block.

The Ohio State product has started 28 games for Denver over the last three and a half seasons, totaling 9.5 sacks. Browning recorded 5.0 sacks in 14 games in 2022 and 4.5 sacks in 10 games in 2023.

The Falcons are expected to be aggressive in their pursuit of an edge rusher, and according to Adam Schefter, the club is expected to pursue a trade for Azeez Ojulari. Through nine games, the Georgia product has six sacks and would be a tremendous boost to Atlanta’s pass rush.

The next 24 hours are going to be quite eventful for the Falcons.
