The Falcons are set to travel north to New Jersey to take on the Jets, who have been one of the biggest disappointments of the 2023 campaign, but much of that is tied to Aaron Rodgers tearing his Achilles in the first game of the season.
With the four-time MVP, Robert Saleh’s team had Super Bowl aspirations behind an elite defense and future Hall of Fame quarterback. All of that was quickly thrown out the window when he went down on the Jets’ opening drive against the Bills, who they ended up beating.
The offense has struggled and that might be an understatement, but that could change in Week 13 as Atlanta takes on New York, who have opened up the practice window for Aaron Rodgers to return.
He was cleared Wednesday to return to practice, exactly 11 weeks after surgery to repair his torn Achilles. The Jets now have 21 days to decide whether to activate Rodgers from injured reserve. So though it seems unlikely that he will return this week, nothing should be considered impossible.
Former Packers coach and current defensive assistant in Atlanta Jerry Gray says that if the Jets open the window, Aaron Rodgers will want to play.
Atlanta's defensive assistant Jerry Gray, who spent three years in Green Bay, on Aaron Rodgers: "If they open up his window, I know he’s going to want to play. He’s a competitor. If he shows up on Sunday, you’re going to get the best of Aaron Rogers."

The Falcons could either draw Tim Boyle or Aaron Rodgers — a stark difference. However, what isn’t a question is who will be protecting the New York quarterback — a bad offensive line.
It would be nothing short of a miracle that Rodgers would be able to return from such a devastating injury in such a short period. I would be pretty shocked if he came back this week, though. If I had to wager, the Falcons will see Tim Boyle on Sunday.
