The Falcons aren’t the typical Thanksgiving Day team. They’ve only played in three Turkey Day games in their history, one being a 31-17 loss at the hands of the Saints last year. In 2019, the Falcons will play the Saints again on Thanksgiving at 8:20 ET on NBC, this time in Atlanta, according to Nick Underhill of the Athletic.
It just goes to show the kind of rivalry the Falcons and Saints have formed over the last fifteen years or so. There’s genuine hate lingering on both sides and bragging rights in the South for an entire year up for grabs. Now, it’s not only getting regional attention but national recognition; which is why they find themselves in primetime on Thanksgiving for the second year in a row. Plus, Matt Ryan and Drew Brees usually know how to put on a wildly entertaining show when these teams meet up.
