The Falcons are preparing for their Week 7 contest in Atlanta as the Seahawks fly across the country, and both sides will be shorthanded.
Seattle will be without Tre Brown, Riq Woolen and Stone Forsythe. For a Falcons offense that has begun to find its footing, this shorthanded Seahawks defense is ripe for another big game from Zac Robinson and Kirk Cousins.
As far as the opposite side of the ball, while the offense is succeeding, the defense is struggling, specifically the pass rush. However, the Falcons will be facing the worst offensive line in football, and it’ll be shorthanded. Seattle will be down to their fourth-string tackle. If they can’t get any damn pressure on Geno Smith, they’ll never be able to.
On the Falcons side of things, Raheem Morris told reporters on Friday that Lorenzo Carter and Troy Andersen are going to be out for Sunday’s contest, but more importantly, the Falcons could be without Justin Simmons.

Not having Andersen and Carter is obviously not ideal. The Falcons defense is already a struggling unit, and even if those aren’t stars, missing anyone isn’t great. However, Carter and Andersen aren’t nearly as big of a deal as Simmons.
Opposing offenses have avoided Justin Simmons and Jessie Bates III, who have proven to be the best safety duo in the league. The Seahawks receiving core is arguably the best the Falcons will have faced, so not having Simmons would be a massive loss. Hopefully, he’s able to go.
