The Falcons continue to add to their front office before free agency.
We have named Kyle Smith VP of Player Personnel. https://t.co/xY1EGwuq0R

Smith spent 11 seasons with the Washington Football Team scouting pro and collegiate talent, something they’ve done pretty well outside of the quarterback position. Recently guys like Terry McLaurin, Antonio Gibson, Da’Ron Payne, Cole Holcomb, Kendall Fuller, and Jonathan Allen have been impact players for them. Fontenot was quoted saying:
“Kyle literally grew up in this business and is obsessed with, and passionate about, the process of building and managing competitive teams.”
“He is extremely smart, detailed and organized, and he couldn’t be more excited to become an Atlanta Falcon.
“We are thrilled he is joining our team. I also wanted to acknowledge and appreciate our current staff who has shown flexibility and adaptability as we continue to make this transition within our organization. They have continued to focus on our goals as a team and we look forward to growing together.”
It seems that Fontenot is sticking to his word and hiring people to challenge the way he is thinking. Getting the “right guys” is more important than plucking people from big brand clubs.
