Injuries have decimated the Falcons over the past month. It began with Casey Hayward hitting the IR with a shoulder injury; shortly after, A.J. Terrell tweaked his hamstring, causing him to miss three games. Then, the left guard position saw two put on the IR — Elijah Wilkinson and Matt Hennessy.
Most recently, the Falcons placed Kyle Pitts and Ta’Quon Graham on the IR, sidelining the pair for at least four weeks. And there could be even more injuries on the horizon because free agent Will Compton announced he is signing with the Falcons, which likely spells bad news for Nick Kwiatkoski.

First, if you haven’t noticed, Compton is a gem of a human being and is returning for his 10th NFL season. He’s spent time in a few different places, including Tennesee in 2018 and 2020, where his ties to Arthur Smith lie. Over his career, he’s gone through being a starter, reserve, and core special teamer — the trifecta. He last played in 2021 with the Raiders and is sure to come to Atlanta to contribute in the third phase of the game in wake of Kwiatkoski’s injury.
More impressively, Compton is one half of a relatively famous Barstool podcast, Bussin’ With the Boys, which he co-hosts with Titans tackle Taylor Lewan. He might not make any flashy plays, but Compton will surely give Smith that gritty, team-first attitude that the Falcons need. Whether it’s punt coverage or getting water for the starters, I’m sure the Barstool podcast host is just happy to be back in the league.
