As Dane Brugler predicted earlier today, the Falcons draft Montana State’s versatile prospect Troy Anderson.
Atlanta takes Troy Anderson

Anderson made an impact at Montana State as a quarterback, running back, and linebacker. The former cattle rancher projects as a linebacker in the NFL. Atlanta gets a sideline-to-sideline off-ball linebacker who ran the 40-yard dash in 4.42 seconds, the fastest time recorded by any linebacker at this year’s combine. It’s great value for one of the best prospects at his position, and Atlanta needs an answer at the position for the future.
The Falcons still have Deion Jones under contract and signed Rashaan Evans earlier this offseason, so Anderson will be hard-pressed to get on the field; however, he’s the future at the position. For the time being, Falcons fans can expect him to be a critical piece on special teams.
